2 weeks to go

Okay, so in a little less than 2 weeks, I start my new job as a traveling occupational therapist. Secondary to the chance of being stalked by some psycho, I will not post the name of the facilities where I will work, only the city and type of facility. The experience so far has been extremely exciting. My friends and family have been very supportive, even mom who typically gets very anxious with the thought of change. For those who don't know, I have worked at the hospital here in Greenville, SC for 2 years now and decided it was time for something new. A traveling physical therapist, turned good friend, convinced me that becoming a traveling therapist was exactly what I wanted. So I set out on my journey. I, of course, have big plans, traveling to Chicago, Colorado, Maine, Washington State, etc. We will see how all of that goes. I will also keep everyone updated on my trip to Guatemala in June. The best part of this new job is not just the money or the chance to travel, but that the girls (Stella and Luna) get to join me everywhere I go...as if I would ever leave them. They are usually pretty open to new adventures, but we'll see if this makes them crazy. They'll be in the car, which is their favorite place, so I expect nothing but bliss from them. I will try to update as often as necessary without boring that heck out of everyone.
My first assignment will be at a SNF (pronounced "sniff" in the medical world and standing for skilled nursing facility) in Laurens South Carolina, which I have heard from the television is one of the most racist towns in the US...as in don't cross the railroad tracks. Maybe I can spread some love while I'm there. Laurens is only about an hour away from my house, so I will be in for a big shock as my commute changes from 3 minutes to about an hour. Because my first assignment is not somewhere far from home, my blogs may be a little sparse, but will increase as the excitement increases. I really hope this was the right decision! Happy reading!!!
(I should probably add that this is my first blogging experience so I am open to suggestions. I figure, I like to talk and this will help me talk to a lot of people all at once)
