Gosh, so much has happened since I last blogged. Guatemala was so absolutely amazing and I can't wait to go back! Possibly one of the greatest experiences my little life could have ever endured! I met some of the most incredible people. WOW!!!
So today was my second day in Chicago. I arrived Monday afternoon after wrecking the truck into a telephone pole (nice huh. The apartment is nice. Perfect for a few months, but I don't know how anyone would choose to live in such a small space for an extended period of time. The girls have adjusted pretty nicely. There is a large grassy area across the street where we walk several times a day and I try to get them one good walk in to really wear them out as often as possible. I have walked I think about 30 miles so far. I love being able to walk everywhere. The only time we drive is to get to work and that is only about 10-15 minutes since we're going away from traffic.
The new assignment...I can't believe how good it is. After the last one, I just thought I was doomed to be in crappy facilities, but this one is nice. Granted, I've only been there 2 days now, but I feel like I've just fit right in. The paperwork is SO much easier. Daily notes take about 3 minutes and weekly noted about 6. The paperwork makes sense and is organized. Everyone I work with is really nice and fun, and of course it helps to have Leslie there too! The patients at this facility are higher level overall, than the last facility, even though it's the same type of facility, although there are definitely some who are comparable.
So far so good. We have plans to go to a Cubs game in a couple weeks when they play the Reds!!! There are several touristy things Leslie has planned for us and I will be home (Cincinnati) a few weekends, so it looks like our time here will be busy! I miss Greenville and my Greenville friends, but am very happy so far with the decision to travel! More soon
